Were he to stay, it would certainly be a nice example of showing gratitude to the team and the city.

Always something to be said for loyalty. Playing for one team for a career is rare these days.
12:43 AM on 06/03/2010
But he should not stay on a team that does not seem to be able to put the best players around him to win a championship. LeBron does not just want to win 1 championship. They guy wants to be on a championship team and not have to win the thing all by himself. He'll leave and probably go to Chicago. They have a history of winning championships. Management there is a better fit. We shall see...

a lot better example than when he wore that yankees hat to a indians / yankees playoff game in cleveland a few years back.

The ideal team would be LA. He could take Odom's spot. KB, LB, Pau, chris Paul and Bynum. Artest coming off the bench is interchangable with Bynum, LB or KB. This would be Showtime 2!

Hey, I'm a Knicks fan...don't say that. You guys have enough championships including the one you're about to get.. C'mon!

As long as were in fantasy land Cleveland trades their entire team to Washington for the first pick and John Wall and Lebron dominate the league for the next 10 years

Yes, Cleveland can pay more from the basketball side, but the endorsement power that would be there if he signed in New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles (don't overlook them) is huge!

He is already the second highest earning sports figure behind Tiger Woods and he already makes more money from endorsements than from Basketball. I really think think that aspect of his decision isn't as important as people think. I could see Chicago but La is out. Those two egos couldn't coexist. He wants a title. What does NY have to offer?

He just inked a new deal with nike this year for 90 million so the lack of endorsement opportunities in Cleveland argument is a little weak.

I think the guy likes Cleveland. There is no place like home.
10:22 PM on 06/01/2010
Cleveland loves this guy.
Chicago wants him.
11:43 AM on 06/02/2010
absolutely. he knows we love him here. but honestly, a lot of clevelanders (including myself) don't want him here if he doesn't want to be. he was emotionally checked out during those last couple games, and if he's going to play like that in the playoffs next year, let him move on. he looked like he would have rather been mowing my lawn than playing basketball.

I know he loves it here, and I don't think NY will give him as much of a "big stage" as people think. the knicks and the nets don't have solid teams. he has a camaraderie here with this team. I think he stays.
10:16 PM on 06/01/2010
he is going to the knicks or the nets.
10:09 PM on 06/01/2010
I hope the knicks get him. That would guarantee the knocks don't win a title at least until after LeBonbon retires. What Isiah couldn't finish James can.

Great young talent in Chicago. They'd be scary.
06:55 PM on 06/01/2010
Bad move.

His top options should remain: 1) Miami with Dwayne Wade and an insistence that Pat Riley come back and coach for a year like he wants to, win in the next two years, 2) Chicago with Rose and Noah and Larry Brown as his coach with a young team and a chance to establish a dynasty in the aging East, 3) Orlando for less money with Dwight Howard and Stan Van gone inside of a year.

Cleveland fired Mike Brown, great. He wasn't the one who spent the past 7 years making bad personnel moves that basically gave Lebron no support. The same management is going to be in place in Cleveland, which means they're going to continue to make the same dumb moves. He'll have no support and continue to lose. KG's right, Lebron should leave now while he can, before he's too old, instead of wasting valuable years with a bad franchise.
