But if the rule is in place to prevent someone from taking the position merely to enjoy a pay increase that same person helped arrange for, doesn't it fix the problem, to drop the pay increase? I guess the watchdog group concerned, is more interested in the letter of the law, than the spirit of the law...

"conservative watchdog group."

Was just bit in their a**.

What an idiot group you are. You would rather remove a very intelligent and effective secretary of state over a few thousand dollars, which she isn't even earning. What a waste of money and time. You should be billed by the courts for this misuse of power.

I'm curious how Judicial Watch will spin this so it appears they "won" another case they actually lost.

Judicial Watch, more frivilous lawsuits and money and time wasted on petty bickering that has to do more with politics than any law. Quit running this country down the drain.

I wonder if this group was also upset when Cheney ran as Vice President even though the constitution says that the President and Vice President can't be from the same state (Texas)?
01:27 PM on 06/07/2010
He changed his residency to circumvent that.

Whether you agree with the ability to do that or not, the constitution was upheld.

That reptile Cheney crawled out from under his Texas rock and moved to one in Wyoming for the purpose of the election.

In clear violation of the Thirteenth Amendment. The Democrats should have been hung for not following up on that one.

"So that Clinton could take the post, Congress lowered the salary to $186,600, the level when she began her second Senate term."

Sounds fair to me. Why pursue this? Seems pointless.

Good lord when does it end?

Republicans are relentless in their pursuit to bring Democratic Administrations down.

Especially this one!

Well, this administration has too many "minorities" in it so what do you expect from the party of NO other but white males?

Really? And most other administration was only white males. For most of this country's history only white males were allowed into the inner sanctum. Now, there's more representation of minorities in government, and you're freaking out. Maybe the colonist mentality needs to go back where it came from.

Once again, common sense gets thrown to the curb by "conservative watchdogs." As is typical, they want the world to exist only in stark black and white. No gray areas!

Had the salaries not be returned to their lower rates, they'd have a case - but corrective measures were taken to make these appointees (from both parties, as the article points out) eligible.

The waste of time and energy on this kind of thing is astounding. Would have been nice if the courts had simply ruled against them, but at least they didn't buy into their nonsense.

Judicial Watch is a sham outfit dedicated to turning the USA into a religious theocracy ala A Christian Taliban. They are an evil outfit who if they had their way would set this country back 300 years.
