Heh. El Toro had to face the kid AND all the kid's men -- and he still put junior in a time-out.

Bravo, El Toro!

Was the bull supposed to go easy on him because he is 12? I don't think so. Somebody somewhere decided it was okay for him to be in the game so he gets what the adults get.

The arena looks empty, there is hope one day this barbaric sport will be history.

AS to the young boy, probably his ba//s did not drop yet and he is putting his life in danger playing a hero, he got lucky this time.

I agree it's awful but these bulls only fight once. There's no systematic torture like the meat you eat. In the end the bull is revered and eaten. Do you know the animal you ate today? Did it live and die happily? Did it have a chance to do anything other than be tortured and enjoyed by your mouth and stomach?

That's a good point. Most chicken we eat, never saw sunlight and lived in cages, yet we focus on the cruelty in other countries.
What is worse, a painful life and a painless death or the other way around?

BTW, I'm for the abolition of bullfighting, like all others here. Tradition is no excuse and most Spaniards don't even care about it.
But I'm also for higher standards in food production, when it comes to animal rights.

Another ZERO on the sympathy scale, after all, isn't risk part of the 'fun'?
I would have preferred a bit, if not a lot, of the kid's blood. ¬°Olay!

At least this kid was smart enough not to throw stones at the Border Patrol.

I'm Not against bullfighting.

Every tribe/clan/culture/peoples has a right of respect to it's tradition.

The "cultural tradition" defense again?? Please. Honor killings and clitoral mutilation are cultural traditions, too. Does not make them in any way defensible. Human sacrifice was traditional for the Aztecs. Should that tradition be protected for their descendants?

That cultural argument is so 20th century.

The bull barely touched him.
Too young.
The arena was empty.
Big deal.
