Let's pray this works.

It might work better if you act.

Less hoping.
Less praying.

Far more acting, please.

Many people may skip right over this article (obvious by the grand total of 4 comments so far), but I cannot help but feel the importance of our wildlife at this time in history. Mankind has really mucked things up and beautiful creatures and species are at the disposal of that misuse. Thank you Wildlife Rescue teams for helping save the animals!

It's amazing how people skip over articles that actually deeply affect our own existence, but will always read political articles. We've become so short sighted and so blind to how our actions affect everything around us.

"We're talking about allowing the entire year's class of hatchlings to emerge and swim to their certain doom, and are we just going to sit back and let that happen?" he said. "We just can't." Undoubtedly the actions of humans cause the demise of other species on almost a daily basis. It's unfortunate that it takes an in-your-face disaster to get our attention isn't it?

I deeply admire the tireless Wildlife Rescue teams in the Gulf. And am so grateful to them and their tender ministering to the innocent turtles who are endangered, but are being given a fighting chance. It brings tears to my eyes. Below are links to some turtle rescue sites:

Thanks for the links... my daughter and I are trying to raise some funds by selling home screened shirts and posters to help both the pelicans and the turtles...

It seems we've committed funds from pelican shirt sales to http://www.seabirdsanctuary.com as it's close to home...

... we've yet to start screening our turtle shirts, but we now have a good selection of rescue centers to donate to.

thanks!

Way cool. Thank you. And totally agree - action is what is required here and there are thousands who ARE acting for the turtles, wildlife, wetlands and coastlines. :-)

You are welcome. I love animals so dearly, and especially turtles. They are amazing creatures and some are centuries old. It warms my heart that there are so many working hard to save them and ensure that the species continue. ;-)

This is good, but, actually, we can't just relocate animals (or soon-to-be animals) at our own will. These creatures have connections, "family and friends", and may even turn back to their old places after being displaced.

Of course. Hope they'll be able to get back where they belong sooner or later.

... but if we don't it could be far worse than lost connections...

We can at least give them a chance away from the oil

There are seven species of sea turtles, and five of them live in the Gulf. We need to do SOMETHING to try to save them or else those five species will be gone forever.
