The irony is that he is involved in scandals, so he's really passing the blame onto the people who voted him for!

In response to your reply to my post (which I assume was deleted): You better ask somebody.

Kind of puts the lie to this whole Conservative notion that Government needs to get out of the job of regulating. This isn't about the hypocrisy of his own situation, writ large already by his refusal to just simply resign, and recognize what we all do, that he is simply unworthy to hold the office. No, this is about recognizing the fundamental failure of man, that power corrupts, and there needs to be checks and balances to protect man from the deeds of other men.

If he grows a conscience and sense of personal embarrassment at what he has done, he may well be on his way to becoming a Democrat. But I don't hold much hope for that, even though his soul would be the better.

If you don't hold us accountable, we'll do some real bad things in Washington, D.C. -- the secret motto of the Republican Party?

Mr. Ensign, one who has not been held accountable. He has lost his way morally and ethically while the Christian Right has held his hands and whispered words of encouragement to him and thereby aiding and abetting him. He still holds the same position while others with less baggage have been cast into oblivion. This is whats wrong with our country where the morally unfit still draw their government checks and provide NO good to our country. Cast him out, now.

"If you don't hold us accountable, we'll do some real bad things in Washington, D.C." This will ring in my ears for the rest of my life. This quote should be printed on every ballot for Congressional office, and mandatory voting should be a new Constitutional Amendment. Accountability has to work both ways. A voter turnout of 20-30% is pseudo-democracy.

Truer words have never been spoken by a GOPer, but it will fall on death ears, cause the base refuse to hold them accountable and that is what they bank on.

Palin voiced the same words running for governor in Alaska. Citizens were holding her responsible and look what Palin and her staff called them. The title 'M_ean Girls' comes to mind

Ensign.....Vitter.......Bachmann.....Foxx......King.......Angle.....Rand Paul........Rick Perry......Pete Hoekstra........

if there were people like this in the D party,or candidates for elected office, supported by the D party, the R's-led by FNC-would be beating the drum 24hrs/day over and over and over again.........until prominent D leaders spoke out against them and their disgraceful behavior/comments and/or forced them to resign........

yet these types of people fit in perfectly in the R party.......they really dont even stand out at all.......no big deal.

the fact is,we can debate ideology all day long.......but the R party is overflowing w/ these types of di sgu st i ng shameful politicians, and they are not only allowed to remain in office, but they are BELOVED by the FNC/AM radio/TeaParty crowd.......

who are the most "extreme".....most offensive progressives/D's out there?........every time the right wants to reference the "worst of the left",we hear about Rosie O'Donell or Sean Penn or Van Jones.......

but who are the equivalent D's to these awful, awful hypocrites and ha te mon g e r s actually HOLDING ELECTED OFFICE in the R party?
