It's funny that they cut him coincidentally right after Matt Taibbi nailed it once again in Rolling Stone with an article about him entitled "The Franchise Killer".

"Winners" like this guy get paid millions of $$$ a year, for nothing more than possessing an athletic ability. Meanwhile, the people that teach our children are getting their homes foreclosed on.

I'm just sayin'.

i agree that teachers should be paid more but the issue you raise about foreclosure is one that athletes have nothing to do with....just ask yourself, "who created the home foreclosure problem?" so called smart wall street, ivy league educated bstards, who have gotten off scott free. btw, neither do athletes have anything to do with the amount paid to teachers. put your thinking cap on chris.

You can be a guy like Ochocinco who has an attitude but has fans in every city, or a guy like Moss and leave enemies in every town you ever played in. Personally, I think he needs help as a person, and should put the sports aside and deal with that now. If the NFL really cares, they will help this guy, and not just persecute him.

These prima donna "monsters" are created from an early age; worshipped and idolized for their athletic ability and paid vast sums for stupid jobs in college like turning the lights on and off in the gym - which they usually get some lackey to do. They don't get an education - pay others to go to class for them and all (most) of their off field "antics" are covered up. The Randy Mosses of the world are completely socially dysfunctional - once the talent is gone, there is nothing left of the person or psyche beneath.

I am not generalizing about all world-class athletes - not by a long shot - just those with the lack of social value, such as Randy Moss.

Randy knows he's lost a step and that his value in the NFL or any associated industry is just about nil - he's in a panic, lashing out and has no answer for his future.

Millions of people are reading about a ten-minute or less episode on Randy Moss and forming their opinions. Unfortunately, this is too often seen by many of today's fans, coaches, players, etc. Why is it that for the cranky fan or coach or airline passenger we just say they're having a bad day?

I won't condone bad behavior; however, how many people address bad behavior when it's your friend, mate, etc.? Yet, many of the same bloggers are using one moment in a day to villify someone we don't know. What kind of example is being displayed when too much is drawn from a 10-minute episode? Maybe many of us should take a deep breath before we start yelling or typing!!!!

Your right, as far as your point goes. This person though has had a fair number of 10 minute episodes to be observed. The results of my observation point to an overwhelming trend: a rude, boorish individual whose world revolves around himself. I have a feeling that world has just gotten a bit smaller.

My point is "don't expect more out of others than you expect out of yourself."

I won't condone the childish behavior of Randy Moss but I really don't know him either. There are many of the same people on this site using derogatory comments against him. Just because they are comfortably in their homes give them any more reason to yell and shout through their computers.

Just about the norm these days, I must say!!!!

There is also the possibility that Randy Moss may suffer from a mental illness considering his disruptive and aggressive behavior. He could be a bipolar individual.

This shouldn't be about race. But I can't help but see a trend of the "he's a thug!!" comments or people digging up any random black athlete of ill repute to compare to this player who's actually being fired because his cowardly coach can't admit he was embarrassed by public insubordination. I guess he prefers the behind the scenes kind that Favre gives him. Apparently so does everyone else.

Remember that the NFL is 68% AA, so the odds always better an AA will be called out. I do not know the NFL disciplinary statistics, so you may have a valid point.

I don't doubt, with Moss' history that he was read the riot act when picked up by MN. He probably had very little slack to work with, and pitching his little food fit was enough. The pathology of Childress/Favre/Moss is a whole other conversation about who is actually in charge there, and I think Childress has lost face so many times with Favre, he went after some less "valuable" insubordinate player as a symbolic act. Who knows? I am a Raider's fan so I have my own problems.

You cannot have an athlete questioning the coach in such a public manner. There is nothing cowardly about it. NO team would put up with this. A coach and player fighting behind the scenes is not unknown and never has been.

I don't recall OJ "disappearing" in Buffalo. I only recall him repeatedly running like the wind through our defense. As for Moss, the Vikings would be better off getting rid of the sacred Favre instead.

White America: Randy Moss' Behavior Reportedly Out Of Control
Translation: How dare this black man speak up and speak out, he's not a white man. Plus, he's tall and "scary" and his loud voice thinks he may hurt me. Only white men can impromptu speak out it shows their PASSION for the game. Plus we are white we are not threatening.

I could care less about what happened at the Vikings catered meal. What upset me happened during Sunday's game. It was on the play near the goal line when a Patriots defensive back was called for pass interference on Moss. The ball hit the ground less than three yards from him, and Randy made absolutely no effort to catch it. Had he caught it the touchdown would have counted. I cannot recall ever seeing such an obvious lack of effort from a professional. Something very similar happened in the end zone the previous week when Moss made no attempt to jump for a catchable ball on the final play of that game.
When I hear the ESPN Moss apologists state that the Vikings should have known what they were getting when they traded for him a month ago, does that mean they should have expected to get a highly paid professional who quits on his team when the mood strikes him?

I haven't seen this mentioned as a possible reason for Minnesota acquiring Moss (in addition to there need for a wide receiver to take pressure off of Harvin), is that they were hoping Moss would be so perturbed for being traded from the Patriots he would do whatever he could to prove them wrong (for trading him). I think the Vikings were hoping for a hyper-motivated Moss to help the team...not just a player playing out the season for a big free agent contract next year.
IMHO
07:55 PM on 11/02/2010
Randy is a thug and malcontent. He needs to hang up his cleats. He's just like Iverson, who also was prodigiously talented but had a rotten attitude. The Patriots' coach looks like a genius for trading this guy.

Whew! Golly gee, I can't imagine what you'd call Moss if he had toyed with 2 teams before bailing, refused to attend training camp twice, methodically undermined his coach, sexually harassed a female NFL employee, and routinely cost his team winning games with bad decisions. But yeah, I can see how Allen Iverson would be far more relevant to this NFL discussion. I mean, afterall they BOTH had braids (eyeroll).

NFL's color Bias is very evident in stories like these. To be fair Pac Man Jones did nothing wrong in the Vegas shooting incident , yet he was banned for a year without pay. Moss gets cut for Criticizing a coach and a meal .

Yet Bret Favre's manhood was all over the internet and he admitted to sexual misconduct against an NFL employee!. Yet the NFL has stated that they are "investigating" for over 6 weeks now. Yet despite the Mea culpa, so suspension has been given. Yet they were so ready to be all over Michael Vick because some guy got shot at his party after he had already left. To me the NFL is the single embodiment of the American Justice system.

Gotta agree on that one, and I usually don't agree when people play the "race-card" like Lebron. But they just waived Moss for being a picky eater (and being a drama-queen). But Farve wasn't a drama-queen when he announced he was going to play this season 20 seconds before the season started, right? I'm sure that didn't "alienate" his players.

Did you see the replays on the NFL network showing that Moss was taking almost every play "off", and not even trying to catch footballs that ended up landing at his feet? They don't care what Randy Moss does as long as he is producing. He wasn't and showed no signs that he was going to. That's why he was cut.

What did he do wrong?. Did he pull the trigger, were criminal charges brought against him?. He got so severely punished because he was an NFL player and it painted the league in a bad light. The NFL has an image problem anyone who doesn't adhere to it gets punished, I.E if your black and some how come across as some kind of thug.
