Has anyone seen a little known movie starring Luke Wilson called "Idiocracy"?

It's exactly what can happen if you allow illiterates like Sarah Palin to get one foot in the White House.
No need to panic though, Palin won't get past the Republican primaries.

Yes she will. There's no one else who united the GOP base like she does. Maybe Newt or Barbour can do it, but they're iffy.

I'd prefer Terry Crews to Sarah Palin!
He is actually really smart, and was good at school!

I stumbled on her show last night, and it's as well produced as any 30 minute ad you've seen.
Fishing and fireworks on July 4th, Trig in her arms the whole time, inspirational music in the background.
I have no idea if they are all this well staged, but if the one I saw is any indication, she's already got her media team in place and working.

Oh, and this list was very funny.

They came first for the intellectuals
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't an intellectual.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

etc. etc. etc......

Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

Then they came for the Godwin-ers,
and I said...GOOD RIDDANCE!

(I'm just kidding a little, I agree with your sentiments.)

Lighten up people....67% of Americans do not think she is qualified to be President....do you really think that number is going to go down? If anything it will go up with the more exposure she gets? She is getting a lot of press because conflict sells period.

I can't believe that the male republicans are going to let her be president over one of their own. They will do the dirty on her like they did to the tea baggers this last election. They take care of their own (not socialism though).

And the number one reason she will become president? All underestimate her and the will of those wanting change. PRICELESS but sad.

adama50,  He wasn't elected EITHER time.  Gifted by the SC the first time, and by Diebold voting machines throughout the midwest the second.  Exit polls, which are historically accurate, showed him LOSING.  But the machines 'flipped' votes. 200 lawsuits, many still pending.  We're not ALL dumbies, and the GOP knew that as well as the Bush family dynasty who along with some help placed a few folks in key slots to help them gain, and regain power.  Think about Cheney, Rumsfeld, GWs' pal in the national guard, as well as the Thomas appt. to SC and Jeb in Fla.  GWs' reign was the result of a long well-thought out campaign that is STILL going on.  Watch for Jeb in 2016.

But this country did elect George W Bush. Twice. So, unfortunately, it is not outside the realm of possibility that this woman could be elected. It would have similar and catastrophic results but who knows?

We are supposed to have learned something from having a numbskull in the White House. That's why we thought we'd go for an intellectual this time -- someone with vision and tenacity to pull us out of the mess the GOP created.

Wait until the credulous Americans who voted for the witless TPers find out who they put in Congress. I am praying that the dumbing-down of America will desist in 2012.

You have to look at it as a joke...
Palin WILL be elected president in 2012 (and will also star in a reality TV show following her exploits as the most powerful woman in the world). The US will lose at least an entire decade in a no-growth economy. Polar bears will go extinct in the wild. China and India will be outsourcing jobs to America because our wages will be so low.
Buckle up, progressives. The idiocracy has arrived and there's not a damn thing we can do to stop it.
