The article is wrong. Ron Kirk was never a congressman. And at any rate, he said yesterday that he would not run.

I'm not a Texan, but I thought the same thing. Wasn't he the mayor of Dallas?

Though I voted against him, Leppert has proven to be a very effective mayor.  He could win in Texas though he would immediately be listed as a Rino by the Baggers.

IQ under 40, and wearing a big cross. That's what I expect to see elected.

Ain't that the truth. That's the ONLY downside of Hutchison's retirement. :(

They may be young but I think Julian and Joaquin Castro are the future of the Texas Democratic Party. I just wish we could get there sooner.

Perhaps we could start with a list of recent releases from the state psychiatric hospital system.

To the fear & consternation of the Dems, it'll be a young, articulate Republican Hispanic that takes Hutchison's Senate seat. The Dem hold on the Hispanic vote has already started to show signs of waining. More to come in 2012.

It has been demonstrated that Hispanics and other minorities can not win in the republican primary. I know of no strong Hispanic republican candidate in Texas. Who do you think of as that winning Hispanic republican?

Why do you think George P. Bush recently moved to Texas from Florida? The grandson of our 41st President, is young, articulate, fluent in Spanish & Hispanic.

What's with the "Railroad" people who want to run. Any pun intended?

In Texas, the Railroad Commission is very powerful because it regulates not only trains but the oil industry, as well.

It used to be--before the 1970s--THE most powerful political position in Texas and one of the very most powerful in the world. That was before OPEC took over.

No "Republican". We want a Conservative.

WE just added Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, and Marco Rubio. This is only the first step. Jim DeMint needs more help pushing our agenda. We will succeed.

Or could she go back to being a t'sip cheerleader? For those who don't know she was a cheerleader at a Texas university in Austin--the one that went 5-7 in football this season.
