Aw c'mon! I was looking forward to a Pawlenty/Palin or Pawlenty/Bachmann ticket. I bet their slogan would have something to do with Good and Pawlenty and they would edit the old commercials to appeal to seniors while they work to take away their Medicare...
01:45 PM on 05/11/2011
Unfortunately, if he makes anyone's ticket, it will be in the supporting role of VP.
He will never get top billing, even he knows that.
He's been running for VP since 2006.

If he actually gets nominated, union members will march just like the old days.

"Grandfathered in?" Try: integrity, honor, instead
12:25 PM on 05/11/2011
Timmy is more than just Wonder Bread: each slice contains contaminants of regressive tax policy, empty rhetoric, and cynical robbing of critically needed medical funds for indigent and poor here in Minnesota - funds the Feds would have matched, dollar-for-dollar, to double the needed benefit to citizens: if only he had not acted so cynically and robbed critically needed money from the poorest of the poor here during his watch.

But, Timmy: look at the benefit you reaped in return. You get to claim the mantra of cutting expenditures to the jugular - even when there was no need. And look how nicely it plays for you, politically: your chronic inability to rise above low single digits appears likely you will remain a footnote now. At least, those of us who care about meaningful and constructive public policy, certainly hope so.

Meanwhile: all your directed human suffering toward Minnesota's neediest: counted for nothing politically for you, Tim.

I feel you must be a fellow Minnesotan, because you seem to know the issues well.
T-Paw wouldn't even carry the state.
He should announce soon that he intends to "spend time with family".
No one else seems to want him around.

I was wondering about that. Would T-Paw really not carry his home state of MN??

Thanks, mnnyer. Yup, a fellow survivor here. And we didn't even get an "I survived T-Pawl" t-shirt out of his 8 years of gubernatorial mismanagement and treating his highest office in the state, as though it were his moonlighting gig, well behind his continual out-of-state campaigning to satisfy his presidential aspirations. The way he shadowed McCain as gopher in 2008 was pitiful. Despite Timmy's sycophant pursuits, McCain chose a stronger VP pick that year, instead of Pawlenty.

"If Trump has collapsed where does that leave Pawlenty"?

In the same place underneath Trump where here has been all along,
only now he's lighting the after the lovin' cigarette.

My state of MN always has to be in the news for odd or bad things. We had boring Pawlenty who left us billions in debt with a collapsed interstate on his watch. We have crazy eyed Bachmann. Nothing else needs to be said for her. And the republican candidates (Coleman) was so bad he lost to a wrestler and a comedian. Also, I live in the gayest city according to a recent finding, which I dont mind but find interesting.

I saw a study years ago that found the gayest cities are the safest cities.
01:49 PM on 05/11/2011
The twin cities beat out NY on a hipster rating.
Pretty cool.
We have Franken, Klobuchar, Ellison, Mondale and we had Wellstone.
Not all bad.

We dont even need any candidates yet, Obama has sunk himself. He can't win and his own Party know it, I hear Chuck Shumer is going to PRIMARY old Berry LOL.

Beasue of Obama's record low popularity, I like the odds for the Republican Party and therfore, America.
12:20 PM on 05/11/2011
What are you talking about, the President's poll numbers are at 60% at the moment. Go peddle that junk elsewhere. I hear Newsmax is looking for comments.
01:55 PM on 05/11/2011
Is that the AP poll that polled all democrats this week?

Nothing would make me happier than to see an Obama/Bachman match up. I would really enjoy that!

And President Bachmann would proceed to return the government to real Americans.

Timmy boy is a non starter at 5%. That kind of recognition will get you the 'anonymous right wing politician' of the year award. Just fade away Timmy, just keep on fadin'.
11:22 AM on 05/11/2011
If I were a conspiracy theorist--which I sometimes am--I'd say the establishment Repub party is holding back it's real leaders until the fringe crazies have all beaten themselves to exhaustion. Then some real star who has a chance to win on a national stage can step in deus ex machina and save them. It ain't going to be Pawlenty, though.

Now, the other conspiracy theory is that establishment Repubs believe they CAN'T beat Obama and are positioning for '16. I don't really believe that, but who knows? They threw up the white flag with McCain and the Tina Fey lookalike in '08!
