Question for conservatives: According to Gallup, in 2008, 50% of republicans believed man made global warming had already begun. Today only 30% do. What has changed since a republican, Texas oil man was the president to today to make about a third of conservatives when polled in 2008 change their mind about global climate change?

They got smart, thats what happened plus a boatload of concocted evidence supporting Global warming was found in e-mails from the College Of East Anglia, England.

Please quit telling lies. You know as well as anybody that those scientists have been found innocent of any wrongdoing.

By the way, your tinfoil hat is ready. As requested, we're put the "Kochsuc.ker" brand across the front.

Even if what you said is true it is a moot point because there are a heck of a lot more insitiutions doing GW research than one college in England. That is how research is done by several schools but I doubt you have ever actually read any research.

So much for being known as THE GARDEN STATE.

I had no idea so many street republicans were amateur climatologists.

Their opinion matters so much more than all the scientists in the US, Europe, Japan and across the globe. Yep, YOUR opinion matters more than actual science by those much more qualified than say the GOP guy on the street or more importantly an elected GOP member.

Sorry guys, no contest, the problem is, if you lose, we all lose.

Luckily, he just makes bad movies, not bad policy. The former is inherently cheaper in both the short and long runs.

Well, its the warm season here in the northern hemisphere, and people with sensitivity to ground level ozone will be suffering excruciating pain from sore throats , as well as difficulty breathing. People with this affliction who live down wind of big cities and pollution sources know the sort of day... hot, sunny, muggy, and as the day wears on, increasingly painful.

If you make the mistake of exerting yourself on one of these days, you can damage your lungs.

The ground level ozone comes largely from fossil fuel compounds mixing with sunlight and other compounds in the air.

Do republiecons care about things like this? Apparently not. This is the sort of thing that only interests psuedo environmentalists according the brotherhood.

Republiecons.. all for themselves.

Every day, we use 85 million barrels of oil, 19 million tons of coal, and 300 billion cubic feet of natural gas. As you will probably recall, C O2 = CO2, so burning these fossil fuels creates a lot of carbon dioxide: http://photos.mongabay.com/09/forecast_co2.jpg

Does all that CO2 just dissipate? Nope. It is building up in the atmosphere: http://scrippsco2.ucsd.edu

CO2 is a greenhouse gas, so the extra CO2 warms the planet. There is a great outline of the physics at www.uchicago.edu. Just search for "PhysTodayRT2011"

What about other factors that influence the climate? Here is a comparison: http://data.giss.nasa.gov/modelforce/RadF.gif . The spikes are volcanoes, which have a short-term cooling effect.

It's simple. We take carbon out of the ground and put it into the air, changing the balance of the planet's energy.

Global warming is real and largely the result of our use of fossil fuels.

In other news, Chris Christie says that he thinks it's necessary to defer to the scientists about scientific matters.

He says the climate is changing, partly due to humans, and still has a target if 20 percent of NJ energy from renewable sources by 2021.

If you think global warming is a scam or a conspiracy, Christie is not your guy.

ClimateHawk, isn't that for Roger Ailes at Fox News to decide?

Boy that .73 cents a month is killing the economy! What is wrong with taking a gentle step toward protecting our planet, ourselves? Chicken little? or are we a chicken troll?
01:07 PM on 05/29/2011
When chicken little drowns, then what? You see, it important to take a long-term view of planetary health. Short-term views over-populate, pollute and cause mass extinctions. We should be a bit wiser than this as a species. That we are not militates against our survival.

The funny thing is that cap n tax waste of paper bill is about as big corporate as you can get. Even Dems say that the bill does nothing about pollution.

I suggest if you pseudo environmentalists want to get behind a cause i am sure there are some contaminated lakes in you community that you can get involved in cleaning up.

How about we start with this: if it's "cap and tax", who gets the "tax" money?

"How about we start with this: if it's "cap and tax", who gets the "tax" money?"

Well, the New Jersey state taxes on fossil fuels are overseen by Governor Christie.
