Get ready form our energy costs to sky rocket, these regulations never cost the corporations a penny, they pass the bill onto us, might as well call it what it is a supplemental tax for using energy! thanks EPA, in trying to do good the consumer always gets shafted!!!!

Good job EPA for shafting the American consumer.
"at a cost of less than $1 billion per year to utility companies."
Why so little? because EPA will allow the utility companies to front load the cost to the consumer.
The consumer loosed big time. Don't believe it? check it out.

ANd now the consumer pays much more to support the health issues and other costs.

Oh Well many would rather pay for sick people instead of a little more for energy.

How can anyone other than a power plant owner turn down so much health gain for so little investment?
05:54 PM on 07/07/2011
Tell that to the millions of unemployed who are struggling to pay their bills now as we tack on another 3.4 billion that will be passed on to consumers. But not to worry, obama said that his administration is working on getting rid of regulations. Huh?

The levels we are talking about today is in parts per TRILLION, in many cases it can't even be measured. That is because the science in the detection equipment is not there yet, if ever. At the rate we are going, you will need to filter the CO2 you admit when you exhale, and a filter on you butt, just in case.

I will be the devil's advocate (aka Glenn Beck): This is an Obamination. This is the first wave of marxist policies that will force Americans into concentration camps. This is to undermine the businesses who are doing God's work of making sure we have energy. Without these companies we would have no light in our homes, or streets and we would not have the internet. The Obama regieme is going to see to our demise and the destruction of our way of life.... This is the end. Buy Gold. Buy it now.

The coal industry and the utilities are fighting every inch of the way.

Nuclear, coal and oil are getting more expensive while wind and solar are dropping in price. It is time for utilities to get on board the clean, safe alternative energy technologies.
05:56 PM on 07/07/2011
When the sun don't shine and the wind don't blow, where exactly is the electric going to come from?

The government still subsidizes the wind and solar, plus they mandate it to be installed, which raises your energy bills (like ethanol).

Just curious, how many deaths have been stopped by all the prior regulations imposed? Why, does it appear that asthma and other respiratory problems continue to increase as the EPA regulates these plants out of business? Having worked at a closed plant, I know first hand that plants have been closing for years, and yet the "problems" persist. Why? I'm convinced we are going to just put more people out of work, and not "solve" the "so called problem." The Greenies won't be satisfied until we don't have any jobs in this country.

The rate cases are already written, and they are going to PUCs in most states this fall. The PUCs cannot turn down rate increases if utility expenses are mandated by the govt. Get ready for your electric bill to double or triple as Obama promised.
