I will see this ONLY because Michelle Pfeiffer is in it. I'll just have to bear through the Swank scenes while cringing.

So instead of actually writing a script for the sequel he just hired a bunch of celebrities - you know people will be celeb counting instead of focusing on character development (whatever that is!!)...Wait until the herd of them actually starts promoting this flick!!

Ohmygaw, the fall of cine-civilization is upon us. Now if you wanna see something meaningful, funny, complicated, challenging, deeply funny, you turn to cable while if you wanna watch TV style love boat revivalism you turn to features. Cesar? Brutus? Speilberg? Lucas? Why have you destroyed the temple?

Valentines Day was terrible, i agree with the other poster, Love Actually was really really good and none of these kinds of movies seem to be at that level.

"Valentine's Day" was perhaps the worst two dollars and fifty cents I've ever spent, and that includes "Did You Hear About the Morgans," a subway ride to Brooklyn, and decaf coffee. I love a good chick flick, but sitting through that was like someone force-feeding me cotton candy while beating me with a bag of baby animals.

They need to stop trying to match the success of "Love, Actually." What made that film work was that it didn't try to be obscenely cute and showed a more realistic side of love with relatable, complex characters. V-Day, on the other hand, tried to achieve similar results with star power and stories of romance that made Disney movies look gritty. I'm going to go out on a limb and say New Years will be equally vomit-inducing.

I'll add that the characters were also completely engaging, and I've yet to see an American film "Rom Com" that has provided anything similar.

And any film with the character Billy Mack would probably always succeed.

Speaking of Billy Mack, surely some of Love, Actually's success was rooted in its clever and competent use of music. New and original music, pop standards, rock classics, Christmas carols.

One cannot simply add a sound track of current pop favorites on to a movie and think you've done your job. Speaking to you, Valentine's Day.

Yes. It is the holy day marking the inferiority of all people who dare remain single and the epic display of true love that is buying one's spouse a $4.95 box of Whitman chocolates.

"...colliding love stories ..."? This is more like a train wreck.

Everytime I see Zac Efron though, he reminds me more and more of Tyrone Power. He could be his double.
