Biden is a decent man but how does anyone think China will take him seriously when he (nor Obama) can deal with McConnell and Boehner?

"Gently Prods China"

Thanks for being gentle about the issue Biden. I'm sure all the suffering Chinese don't want you to get too rough.

I wonder what subversive anti U.S. deals Biteme offered to China? BTW I love the picture for this article it looks exactly like Biteme is holding China's testicles and is about to kiss China's a _ _.

I have to say that I don't agree with many of the comments here that are trying to draw a false, moral equivalence between the United States and China.

Yes, the United States has been involved in some dubious activities, especially over the last several years. Yes, the legality of many American military actions is disputed. But, you cannot compare that to the massive, industrial-scale violation of human rights in China.

We do not imprison artists because we disagree with their views. We don't have a state-sponsored media that can only report what the political leaders want it to report. We don't prevent people from following the faith of their choice. We don't tell people how many children they should have. Etc. Etc. Etc.

I can hear the laughter all the way from Beijing from this.... This hack politician, who has no clue, is "gently" lecturing our economic and political enemy, as if it were going to listen to HIM?? The PRC is our sworn enemy. The sooner American recognize this fact and stop treating them as Chamberlain did the Nazis in the 1930s, we will be better off. Until then, the laughter will continue....

You lost that privilege when you seceded. Enjoy electing dictators; you wanted it so badly, how can we refuse you?

The vice president of a country that water boards suspects, has secret prisons, runs Gitmo, spies on it's citizens phone calls and library books prodding another country on human rights.

Now that's rich...

lonesome,
Very good use of half-truths in your Straw Man argument.

Yeah, you can tell its nearing election time again. The incumbents camp makes an obligatory human rights gesture they know has absolutely no chance of making any difference, but it looks like they still care.
10:51 AM on 08/22/2011
a pro forma "prod" on human rights, doesn't do anything about the millions of jobs lost to China.
10:49 AM on 08/22/2011
Nice thought Joe. You need to get all of the US Corporate fat cats in a room and ask them why they could not wait to do business with the Chinese when they know that China has the worst Human Rights violations in the world. Start with Jeff Imelt of GE he is Obama's Job Czar. Our outsourcing has done more damage than any tax cut has. Lastly, all that outsourcing has led to China's military buildup. Stealth bombers and Carrier killers used against us someday in the battle for resources.
