I've never tasted (or heard of!) any of these. But I can tell you that, when our aunt would bring us bags of Hershey Miniatures, we'd fight over the Special Darks!

Ohhh, you're missing out! Once you get ahold of the good stuff you'll realize that Hersheys tastes like sugary wax. Poke around the candy aisle at your grocery store and see if you can find some of these brands, taste testing is a great excuse to load up!

I'm sure Hersheys has a research department and it knows what will and will not sell.
People have different tastes and what others consider gourmet tasting chocolate
more than likely tastes like garbage to a hershey customer. Individual differences reign supreme. I've been to Ghana and consumed their Golden Tree brand and I love it.
Guess what? The people there like hersheys. That's life.

Michel Cluizel chocolate is made without lecithin, which in theory means higher ratio of cocoa butter to cocoa solids than most brands (lecithin is a cheap way to get away with using less of expensive cocoa butter). This probably improves the flavor but also comes in handy when I need to make a chocolate cake for someone allergic to soy.

Green & Black's is rating too low for my taste (much better than any Lindt!), but more shockingly, where the hell is Valrhona??? One of the best chocolate brands in the world, available at TJ's for $4 a bar!!

Don't care what it tastes like, if you're paying upwards of $7 for a bar of chocolate, you're an idiot.

Price doesn't seem to follow quality in chocolate. I've heard the same for wine.

Want a GREAT chocolate treat ? get a bar of 100% cacao baking chocolate, pound it to small pieces, then pulverize in a food processor, slowly melt over low heat, add a bag of dried cranberries and AWESOME. the crasins give it enough sweetness and if you want to bump it up a notch stir in a jar of nutella
