STOP the politics-- HELP US VETS NOW

I feel so bad for this mother to have had her son to have tried to endure this. However trying to get Bachmann to say anything positive to this mother would be like putting finger in a levee to stop a flood.

I am sure that Bachmann will say no if only to go on to say that Bullying is Free Speech, or blame the mother for something she has done (like given him the HPV vaccine or had a drink when pregnant), of all the worst things Bachman could say is that the mother didn't pray hard enough..

Sad

What some call "Anti-gay bullying" Michele and Marcus Bachmann call "Re-orientation".

Does anyone find Michele Bachmann's unwillingness to hear the concerns of her constituents a bit frightening?

Is it because she doesn't care or because it doesn't fit with her agenda?

Someone that can't set aside their own interests to stand up for the interests of the public that they represent shouldn't be in office. Public service is service to the public, and must be done whether or not you approve of how they live their lives.

It's what she's getting paid to do.

If she couldn't handle it, she shouldn't have taken the job.

This mother actually exists, unlike the unnamed faceless woman who Bachmann imagined before denouncing the HPV vaccine.

Although it appears that she is total denial that her husband is one, I wouldn't hold your breath thinking that Bachmann is going to be a LGBT advocate.

It is horrible that this kid committed sucide for simply being. But her type of supporters aren't suddenly going to become advocates of gay teens. She knows what side her bread is buttered.

Bachmann has proven again and again that not only does she have a chronic case of cranial-rectal inversion, she does not apologize or admit she is wrong. She will not speak out on this issue because it is counter to her interests and because she is a twisted and sad individual. I applaud Tammy Aaberg's efforts and support them wholeheartedly. There are so many LGBTQ teens that are homeless because their families cast them aside - help them - and fight back against the Bachmann menace.

Nice one, doctor. The malady of cranio-rectal inversion did not go unnoticed here.

At a rally in Costa Mesa, Calif., on Friday, Minnesota resident Alex Lemon asked Bachmann what she intends to do about the rash of anti-gay school bullying in her district, according to CBS News.

Bachmann reportedly offered a brief response: “That’s not a federal issue.” The GOP presidential hopeful moved on to the shake hands with the next rally attendee.

Bachmann has an extensive anti-gay voting history as a member of Congress and has taken anti-gay positions in her pursuit of the White House. She backs a U.S. constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriage and has pledged to reinstate “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” if elected president.

She is a hopeless case - and so full of contempt - unless, of course, it can further her self-serving/ self-righteous agenda.

Skittle said: My hearts and prayers go out to the families; but the 'Christian right', whoever that is, didn't commit the crimes. They didn't tell anyone to commit them. I, and suspect, they mourned the loss of life. These groups that you despise are made up of people, most with good hearts and intentions. You may not like their beliefs, but they have every right to advocate them; just as you do. There are people on the left who stifle debate, teach questionable ethics, ban books and I don't despise them. I just disagree.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I respect and value freedom to practice religion. Churches and private schools are available for religious teachings. Public schools are protected under the separation of church and state. I do not despise the people but I do despise the actions of imposing their beliefs on others through government and schools. I anticipate a backlash of citizens demanding that our government protect the separation of church and state for all.
10:42 AM on 09/18/2011
It already protects us with regard to church and state in that, as prohibited in the Constitution, the government has not instituted a religion on the people. That's all the Constitution says. The 'separation' is the result of 'somebody' 'interpreting' what is stated in print. You say you despise the actions of those who 'impose' their beliefs on others. What do you call it when you legislate not against an action, but you mandate that an action be performed? In this case the 'action' in question would be the acceptance of the actions of others that are found to be unacceptable to the individual. You can't legislate for the one and exclude the other under this doctrine of absolute fairness. You demonstrate yourself by the thingsyou say which indicates that if you had your way, no absolute fairness would be extended to those with whom you disagree. You don't fool anyone with you rbaloney, and I further think that when confronted with someone with whom you disagree, say a lady in front of you in the speedy checkout 11 items or less line at the grocery store who has 23, you probably complain to high heaven of the unfairness of it all when you could extend the tolerance that you expouse. I would love to be a fly on your purse strap to witness your 'absolute fairness' in action.

My heart goes out to the mother and the rest of the family. I am a 41 year old gay man.

You will never get MB to denounce bullying. It's her entire political platform. She aligns herself with some of the worst homophobes on the planet. What her husband does for a "living" is nothing more than bullying people for money; out of fear.

As long as we as a public allow people of this caliber to lead us, as our elected officials; as long as we accept the notion of accepted H8tred for a class or race of individual, there will always be bullying and Mrs. B's faith is positively rooted in bullying anyone that doesnt accept hers as the only path.

I think gays, Asians and midgets are the three groups that are bullied the most. So being Asian I'm for anti bullying laws. Even though I can defend myself with black belts in karate, jiu jitsu, haiku and origami I know there are many Asians who cant. And don't even get me started about gay Asian midgets.

Heteros don't put them there to announce their sexuality. They put 'em there because they're family relations. You're entitled to do the same. If they ask questions you have two choices. "It's none of your business whether I have a wife" or "I got a boyfriend." If they say a rude comment, ignore them. It's their loss not wanting to know you. Nozzle heads will always be nozzle heads. If it's not you, they'll find someone else to be a jerk to.t.

No Ossit, it is very important to come out and get respect and respect yourself,

Yes, you need to get your rights like everyone else. But you've got to respect yourself because you're a good guy and you're kind to others. If you only look at yourself as sexuality first, Arno second, then you've fed into other peoples' problem with it. Existence should be more than sexuality shouldn't it? The nozzle heads give all heteros a bad name. A lot of us back you. That's why things are changing.

SO I can put my boyfriends pictures on my desk as well.

You better because you're entitled. And I bet he's as cute as a button! I'm straight and like your boyfriend already because he's important to you.

Parents Action League doesn’t disclose its membership, funding
In July, a shadow group of parents formed in the district with the intention on staving off any advances for LGBT students. It seeks to “ensure that all health curriculum teach healthy sexuality and promote abstinence until marriage.” The group also wants the district to “promote the Day of Truth” each year.

The Day of Truth is an event organized by Exodus International, a group that says it can turn gay people straight through Christian prayer. It encourages students to bring the Exodus message into schools one day before the Day of Silence, an event that draws attention to violence against LGBT people.

The League bemoans a “lack of resources and assistance for those students seeking to leave the homosexual lifestyle.”
