I have had the honor of covering nine presidents: Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan George Bush Sr, Bill Clinton, George Bush Jr, and Barack Obama. All inaugurations have their special moments, but they can also be expensive, exhausting, and bitterly cold.

The most amazing was RR; the American hostages were released from Iran as soon as Jimmy Carter left office.

The saddest was Lyndon Johnson, sworn in on the plane after John Kennedy was assasinated.

Another dramatic one was Jerry Ford, sworn in after Richard Nixon resigned. Ford pardoned Nixon the next day.
