5 Top Trends, New Introductions, Celebrity Designer Launches & Favorite Finds
High Point officially ushered in Spring, inspiring buyers with tempting new product introductions. Nature was everywhere, noticeably in the form of greens and agates. Let's take a look at five trends that dominated the recent spring market:
TREND #1 : GREEN ENVY!
The standout trend was GREEN. If you missed market but followed the attendees on Instagram, you likely got the drift of a wide range of greens that beckon us to renew our design schemes.
Green is the color of balance and harmony, the color of growth, spring, rebirth. Giving us a sense of renewal, it acts as a bright overall scheme, or a refreshing compliment to other colors. It can be said that green is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of well being. Now we all want to get our green on.
Global Views nailed it when they set the pace with their jungle green color theme this season.
Julian-Chichester carried the green theme as well.

TREND #2: SOOTHING WHITES
The White Range also carried a strong presence this season- classics endure.
Ave Home: A High Point new comer, with four collections inspired by Louis XV, Swedish Gustavian, Hollywood Regency, and Mid-Century Modern style.
Baker
Ann Gish's new ART OF HOME collection- shimmery textures with a silky feel.

TREND #3: PATTERN PLAY
John Robshaw, the master of layered pattern.
Lilian August for Hickory White
Aviva Stanoff's Mermaid Pillows (of the viral youtube video) come in a variety of colors, with directional dual colored sequins that allow you to create your own textures, patterns, or messages.
TREND #4: AGATE
Agate works well in sleek, modern rooms or as an organic accent in more traditionally designed environments. The mystical properties of agate are said to rebalance and harmonize the mind, body and spirit. (Sounds good to me, bring it on.)
John-Richard-Agate-Chandelier. If you are crazy for crystals, minerals, geodes, agates- shop the John Richards line.
Studio A Home's Grand Hall Collection. Another line that embraces the jewels of nature.
Mark-McDowell Collection for John Richard. Note- these stunning agate handles are bigger than you might think.
Bernhardt- Benitez Nesting Tables
TREND #5: HANDSOME AT HIGH POINT
Jean-Louis Deniot- the Paris-based, AD100 designer. Handsome, yes.
The new Jean-Louis Deniot Collection for Baker: Inspired by 20th-Century vintage furnishings, and with a nod to the grand presence of aristocratic décor, Deniot curates with his signature elegant balance and flirtatious wit. His is a world where neoclassical and midcentury meet, where architecture becomes art.

Your feet will only take you so far and there's only so much one person can see at a market this huge. The advantage of having friends with great style is seeing what caught THEIR attention. We asked a few design experts to share their must have, favorite find from High Point:
In the know: Sharon Davis, Christy Davis, Lisa Mende, Julia Buckingham, Leslie Caruthers, Lisa Ferguson, Saxon Henry
SAW, LOVED, MUST HAVE:
"My must have High Point find is a work by Carol Benson-Cobb seen in the John Richard showroom. I just love the soothing and relaxing vibe of her work- it would be perfect for a bedroom."
-Sharon Davis, Executive Director, ART
"It's ice, ice baby to cool off the hot design of the new "Ice Console" by Julia Buckingham for Global Views. This console is the perfect piece to give any style decor an edgy vibe."
-Lisa Mende, Interior Designer, Charlotte NC
"If I could transport one thing I saw during this HPMkt to my own home, it would be this awe-inspiring triptych by photographer Steve Klein in the new Vogue Magazine series that Soicher Marin brought to market. This would truly be one of those things I couldn't live without once I made it mine."
-Saxon Henry, Author and New Media Strategist
"High Point Crush: Moroccan Mirror by Alden Parkes. Why I'm crushing: I love that this is a fresh updated approach to a classic design."
-Christy Davis, Interior Designer- Columbia, South Carolina
"This was my favorite thing at market, by Lee Industries. There is a trundle in the base that easily pops up to make a queen bed! You know this girl LOVED function as much as beauty! I'd do it in a rich indigo fabric, super luxe."
-Lisa Ferguson, Interior Designer- Toronto
"The one single item I saw that I would truly want is this piece at Highland House. The beauty of the burl wood cast in resin and the jagged edges of this piece remind me of driftwood and waves and the peace I find at the ocean's edge.
-Leslie Carothers, CEO, The Kaleidoscope Partnership
"My must have is either the bench we are sitting on or the gilded rebar chandelier above!!! Both by Shine by Sho."
-Julia Buckingham, Interior Designer, Chicago/Phoenix
