Can't Wait Not To Pass This Bill

Posted: 10/24/11 06:46 PM ET

It's President Obama's version of "Make My Day." He's moved on from "Pass This Bill" to "We Can't Wait." But in reality he's saying to Republicans, "I can't wait for you not to pass my bill." For ill or good, the Democratic strategy is all about winning by losing. The idea is to set up one failed vote after another in the Senate on the President's jobs plan and blame the Republicans for standing against jobs in favor of millionaires.

Talking here with C-SPAN's Paul Orgel about President Obama's jobs plan, the economy, foreign policy, and his re-election strategy. (45 minutes)

“Can’t wait to pass this bill†is certainly a good approach in pushing through parts of the bill. But Painting the Republicans as the party of “no†will not help especially since there some reason to oppose it and now, Republicans have started to come out with their own plans which reduce federal spending (http://eng.am/u68f8T) and get rid of the capital gains tax for starters (http://eng.am/sht6Gv) . These both may have some pull with business owners and voters than even the initial millionaire’s tax that the American Jobs Act calls for the foot the bill. Recent studies show that 50% of the income collected from the millionaires tax imposed by the jobs Bill would be how it gets paid (http://eng.am/p1IF9I). As before, all of these are good ideas to help us get started with our economic recovery, but we still need to work on a long term strategy as we continue down this path.

A good strategy since the Republicans ARE standing against jobs in favor of millionaires. They're ready to sink the economy (again) to ensure a return to the WH. Without much accountability expected from guys like you, I might add, Mr. Crawford. I'm no politician or govt expert but the word for this kind of behavior that comes to my mind rhymes with "reason".
