Hey, the folks at the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense agency which provides USERRA Law education, mediation, and is a referral resource to help Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans in their job searches.

They announced recently that 148 employers have been selected as semifinalists for the 2011 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award is the DoD's highest recognition given to employers for exceptional support of their employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. This year 4,049 employers were nominated for the award.

"Our nation's ability to rely on the Guard and Reserve through nearly 10 years of war and during historic natural disasters is made possible by the tremendous support of employers," said ESGR National Chair James G. Rebholz.

The DoD is expected to announce the award recipients in early summer and will be honored in Washington, D.C. in September.
