Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Hey, I love nature, if it makes itself convenient for me. These were all shot from my home office, where I do customer service for craigslist.
I've identified around thirty species, often with the help of social media.

Awesome, Craig. I can tell you'll be working on your life-list from now on. And a good thing. Birding is the single largest activity in the US and generates more commerce than the NBA. Regardless of an individual's political or ideological perspectives, the love of birds brings to everyone an awareness of the need to conserve habitat and to restrain our impacts. Birds not transcend conceptual boundaries and national borders and compell people to act together in a way that almost nothing that I know of does. Birders write their leaders demanding action to protect them and their environment even when they won't do it for themselves.
I don't live in the Bay Area currently but if I did, this time of the year, I'd head over to Alcatraz if the weather was passable and enjoy the marvelous views and the birds there...even, and sometimes especially, the gulls. A great place to read from Sibleys, or ask the Rangers what's happening out there. Cheers.
PS...love that pic of the steller's jay...my favorite.
