As drug dealers in Oakland turn to pimping for greater profits and lower legal risk, they fill their pockets by exploiting legions of young women from 11 to 17 years of age. Pimps are marketing girls on the Internet, listing hundreds who can be found behind Web links advertising "**Hot, SexXxy, Young**" women. This cyber activity makes it more difficult for local law enforcement to catch perpetrators than other crimes such as drug dealing or gang activity. This "Vanguard" report features three young prostitutes who discuss their experiences and plans for the future.
"Vanguard" airs every Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT. "Vanguard" pods are also available on Current.com/Vanguard.

Personally, "law enforcement" is useless in general.
The only thing they do is bust pot smokers and prostitutes. I rarely see them involved in the thwarting of REAL crime....and yet, much of our taxes go towards this.
EDUCATION availability will help these girls....not some glorified nerd with a gun.
but HBO wants to set its series about a pimp with a heart of gold in Oakland
HBO wants to shoot on location and give $$ to Oakland in exchange for the ability to use Oakland
what an honor
Prostitutes are women who are victimized by pimps, johns, police and the courts.
Prostitutes provide a service for money. Those who pay them are not all being victimized. This is a consensual crime, more often than not. Police are set to arrest prostitutes and do their best to negotiate entrapping laws to do so.
The religious authorities who place their sheep on courts from the local to the national level are the real victimizers. They tell people sex is a sin, and people buy it.
