In a world with a bottomless entertainment industry talent pool... one man dominated his field.

In a town where over 35 means old hat, one 68-year-old ruled the roost.

In a land where everyone goes to the movies... one voice captivated a nation.

Don LaFontaine, a man with perhaps the most widely recognized and imitated voice in the English-speaking world, has died. He was "The Voice" of over 5,000 movie trailers.

He made an extraordinary mark on popular culture. Every time the lights dim in a movie theater, he will be missed. (And since America bought nearly 1.4 billion movie tickets in 2007, he'll be missed a lot.)
