So NASA yesterday called for spending $104 billion to go to the moon -- again. Believe me you are not alone in the universe If you are scratching your head and wondering why about this idea. For two years, a broad swath of business, labor, environmental, rural, and urban leaders, governors and generals have been calling for spending that kind of money to create literally millions of high-paying jobs paving the road to a clean energy future. The name of the effort is The Apollo Alliance -- which of course invokes President John Kennedy's call to America's can-do spirit as embodied in the original Apollo moon mission. We can keep subsidizing the oil and gas industries, or we can create a Green New Deal that could help New Orleans and the rest of our economy. Or we can go to the moon, again. This choice doesn't seem hard to me...
