Ronda Rousey is heading to Australia.
The UFC's breakout star of 2015, who has transcended mixed martial arts, becoming a global phenom in the process, is set to headline UFC 193 at Melbourne's 54,000-seat Etihad Stadium. The UFC is packing in an additional 16,000 seats, as they expect Rousey to set the promotion's all-time attendance record.
Standing opposite Rousey (12-0, 6-0 UFC) will be undefeated bantamweight Holly Holm (9-0, 2-0 UFC). A decorated world-champion boxer, Holm is a fleet footed striker who sticks and moves, using her kicking game to keep distance.
And while Holm is the best, and most technical, puncher to ever step inside the Octagon opposite Rousey, she will be unable to withstand the champion's pressure and ground game.
Expect Rousey to finish this fight fast, landing the ground-and-pound TKO in the first round.
Co-main Event: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Valerie Letourneau
Lesser known than Rousey is strawweight champion Jedrzejczyk (10-0, 4-0 UFC), but "Joanna Champion" has been no less dominant during her run at the top.
An elite striker and kickboxer, Jedrzejczyk has been brilliant in the standup thus far, and for her second title defense, she faces Valerie Letourneau (8-3, 3-0 UFC), who now owns the distinction as the largest underdog in UFC history.
Jedrzejczyk will control this bout on the feet, using takedown defense to keep distance and pick her shots.
And in the second frame, Jedrzejczyk will land the knockout blow.
Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva
Nearly two years ago, Hunt and Silva engaged in one of the greatest heavyweight bouts to ever grace the Octagon.
A bloody, five-round affair, the contest eventually ended in a draw, setting up demand for a rematch. But just weeks after the fight, Silva tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, marring the legendary first fight.
Hunt (10-10-1, 5-4-1 UFC) and Silva (19-7-1, 3-4-1 UFC) are now ready to for rounds 6-8.
Known for his one-punch knockout power, Hunt has fallen on hard times of late, losing his last two bouts. Most recently dropping a TKO loss to Stipe Miocic, Hunt has moved his camp to Phuket's A.K.A. Thailand, where he has taken on a new commitment to cardiovascular training.
Silva, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, finally returned to the win column after a pair of knockout losses, finishing Soa Palelei at UFC 190.
Expect another back and forth battle from these heavyweights, but this time Hunt gets the job done, exposing Silva's chin in the third, when he lands the knockout.
Robert Whittaker vs. Uriah Hall
A battle between top-15 middleweights, this contest between Whittaker and Hall is a likely candidate for Fight of the Night.
Known for his punches and knockout power, Whittaker (14-4, 5-2 UFC) has experienced a resurgence since returning to 185 pounds, winning three straight bouts.
Hall (12-5, 5-3 UFC), who struggled early on in his UFC career, has finally found consistency inside the cage, along with his trademark kicks, most recently taking out contender Gegard Mousasi with a rarely seen flying knee and punches.
Expect Whittaker to come out tentatively to evade Hall's deceiving spinning attacks. Midway through the first he'll find his opening and tag Hall with punches. But Uriah Hall will have the last say in this fight, finishing Whittaker with kicks and punches in the second.
Stefan Struve vs. Jared Rosholt
The UFC's tallest competitor, and youngest ranked heavyweight, Stefan Struve (26-7, 10-5 UFC) is a kickboxer with excellent Jiu Jitsu submissions. Jared Rosholt (13-2, 5-1 UFC) is a powerful wrestler who controls bouts on the mat.
Struve, who most recently topped Brazilian MMA legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in his last outing, owns a significant advantage on the feet, where he's able to keep Rosholt at a distance. But it is on the ground where Rosholt will score the upset.
Expect 15 minutes of grinding clinch work from this pair, as Rosholt pressures for takedowns, earning the decision victory.
