30 Days To Fire Up Your Creative Genius, Day 24: What Business Are You Really In? (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.

You may be an event planner who is really in the business of stress management or trend spotting. Some doctors are more in the business of data dispensing than caretaking. The best hairstylists I know are actually in the healing and empowerment industry, and some of the best receptionists are in the same business as bodyguards-- they're protective ninjas. Some project managers exist to motivate. Yoga studios are community builders. Waiters sell charm, residential real-estate agents sell comfort, and we all know that bartenders are really in the therapy business.

Personally, I'm in the wisdom-broadcasting business. I convert information into knowledge, give it my personal perspective, and then deliver it in every format possible. I either give it
away for free or I sell it. Make wisdom. Tell people about it.

Your "real business" is your soul speciality, your Creative Genius. And it's what we'd all line up to get from you.

Today's Worksheet: Freely Associating With Money

Quick Habit Analysis
What do you love spending money on?
What do you wildly resent paying for?
What do you consider luxurious?
When, where, and how are you cheap?
When, where, and how are you generous?

Raise Your Fantasy Frequency
What's your most common money fantasy? Do you see yourself winning the lottery, getting a big raise, marrying into money, having a top seller, watching your stocks go through the roof, getting a new car at factory prices? If your number one fantasy didn't come true, then what would be your next-base fantasy? If that didn't come through, that what would be ideal? And if that didn't happen, then what would be a great way to have money come into your life? And so on.

The point of this exercise is to imagine as many different ways as possible that money can enter into your life. Awaken part of your money memories that might be dormant, and consider that money is everywhere.
