I'm not sure who did the research for this, but William Perry played 10 years in the NFL - 8 for Chicago and 2 for the Philadelphia Eagles. I wouldn't call that a 'brief' career.

My favorite was Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaq shilling for Taco Bell during their NBA Finals matchup. After previously debating crunchy versus soft tacos, they learned to get along and rode a twin bicycle, sporting beanies with propellers for some reason.
