It is an endless dance, dancing with fundies. They raise an uninformed, unintelligent response to hundreds of years of scientific research, you counter it with facts, they raise exactly the same unintelligent, uninformed response the next time the subject appears. You counter ....
Doesn't matter the topic in relation to evolution, the questions have, to use the legal phrase, been 'asked and answered'. So this is beyond mere ignorance, beyond mere poor schooling, perhaps even beyond the brain washing that begins with the small children of fundy parents. This is beyond anything that can be dealt with by the usual progressive response 'education is the answer'. Not in this case, the question has been asked, but that isn't the answer, clearly, education has obviously already failed tens of millions of people. And in any case the fundies are hell bent on closing off even that bolt hole of escape for the more intelligent among them, by getting schools once more, as they did 200 and more years ago, teaching creationism.
There must be an answer to deliberately, willfully, pridefully closed minds, but just at present the people who would prefer that the minds stay closed, keep accepting the same wrong answers, are leading the dance. And it matters, because the same minds that are closed to biological science and evolution are closed to global warming and the destruction of the environment.
