Well, early September is here, and as promised, my first new column for Creators Syndicate is now being published. As you will see, it is about a little-reported but HUGELY important issue happening in states and communities all over the country. You can find the column here.
I have been already been told the column is now expected to run weekly in, among others, The Denver Post and The San Francisco Chronicle -- which is a fantastic start. But that's just a start, and I could use your help.

As you may have heard, Media Matters for America this week published a groundbreaking study showing that conservative syndicated columnists dominate disproportionately dominate America's newspapers. So I am going to need as many readers like you to contact your local papers asking them to carry the column.
It is a real honor to be published by Creators -- the same syndicate that published my friend Molly Ivins and that publishes some truly terrific progressive writers.
I, for one, am going to do my best to emulate Molly's passion and her focus on working-class economic issues. Just before her death, Molly was nice enough to write a column calling me "a new generation populist who instinctively understands that the only real questions are 'Who's getting screwed?' and "Who's doing the screwing?'" That's what this column is going to be all about -- and your help getting it into as many newspapers as possible is crucial.
Because my writing takes on the Establishment, and because I am one of the few columnists who lives not on the coasts but in the heartland, I rely on grassroots efforts like this to support my work.
