Moveon Moves to Challenge Right-Wing Dems in Primaries

Moveon.org today launched a survey asking citizens whether they believe the organization should support serious primary challenges to right-wing Democrats who sell out the progressive agenda. This is a move we should all support wholeheartedly, as it is a way to finally start building a progressive movement, instead of trying to rely only on hollow partisan loyalties.

Oh sure, you'll hear the sob stories from sellout Democratic incumbents and professional election losers in the consultant class. They'll say we have to stay focused on the next election, and not actually fight on principle -- it's what they've been saying for more than a decade as they lose more and more elections.

What they don't want to talk about is the fact that there are a number of Democrats who believe they can continue undermining their party and the progressive movement by siding with Big Money interersts -- and until they get a primary challenge they are going to keep stabbing ordinary Americans in the back, and the Democratic Party is going to keep losing elections into perpetuity.
