So let's see - first we have two third-world leaders - one who is tied to murderous paramilitary gangs - thinking they can just make demands on the U.S. Congress, and now we have House Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R) telling Democrats they "must provide more votes for pending free trade agreements," according to industry newsletter Inside U.S. Trade. Apparently, Roy didn't get that memo informing him that he's now in the minority, and has no authority to demand that Democrats brush aside the fair trade promises that gave them the congressional majority, and removed people like Blunt from power.
He also forgot that, other than the lobbyists who surround the U.S. Capitol, voters aren't demanding "more votes for pending free trade agreements" - in fact, polls suggest quite the opposite.
So Roy, in the interest of keeping you informed, consider this blog post a new copy of the memo reminding you that your party no longer controls Congress, and that therefore you are in no position to demand your opponents abandon the core principles they used to remove you from power. Oh, and at some point, we should talk about the cover sheets on your TPS reports...
