"This is going to be a very musical Emmy Awards," Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich just told me. "And with Neil Patrick Harris on board as our host and Producer, it's going to be a great one." As someone who's happy to be one of writers on the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards broadcast this year, I second that emotion. In addition bringing viewers the greatest stars on television -- including the most consistently entertaining host in award show history -- this Sunday's Emmy night on CBS will also feature special musical performances by a couple of true class acts in any medium -- Elton John and Carrie Underwood. So for all you of out there having Emmy-viewing parties, here's a playlist channeling some cool TV-related tunes to help get you all in the right mood for television's biggest night.
