Never Take Dating Advice From a Pampered Celebrity

Most celebrities do everything in their power not to be available and open to people. So how can a celebrity possibly offer the masses dating advice?

I was just reading that Jennifer Love Hewitt, the famous Ghost Whisperer, is terrified to be back on the singles scene again after recently breaking up with her boyfriend. It's so funny when celebrities make this kind of blanket statement. Welcome to the world of everyone else Jennifer!

So I read on, because I was just so fascinated. I mean, a woman who is able to whisper to ghosts is afraid to go back into the single world? Think about it. There must be ghosts everywhere willing to give her advice. There must be ghosts floating around Whole Foods and other places who can say, "Hey Jennifer, that guy in aisle three is checking you out and here is what he is thinking... You need to walk over there and talk to him immediately."

So I read on a bit more, only to discover that she is actually writing a book about how to date and about her dating life. Here is the thing about that: You are a celebrity who is very unlikely to meet someone in everyday places. You met your last boyfriend on the set of your television show.

So how are you going to tell people how to date? Is your advice going to be to go to Hollywood, try to become an actor/actress, meet one of your co-stars and start dating them?

Celebrities are not approachable in public. I live in Los Angeles. I see celebrities all the time.

I saw Michelle Rodriguez in Whole Foods the other day. She was wearing a commando outfit, dark glasses, a hat, and a dark jacket. She didn't want anybody to know that she was Michelle Rodriguez.

I saw Meg Ryan once at a newsstand. You would have never known it was her unless you noticed the fake lips.

Jennifer Love Hewitt, I have a question for you. When you go out, are you smiling at men and making yourself available?

Most celebrities, when they are out, play the celebrity game of doing everything in their power not to be available and open to people. I see celebrities all the time, and they're always looking down at the ground and running around to avoid any kind of connection with people.

So how can a celebrity possibly offer the masses dating advice? How can a celebrity possibly know how to meet people?

They are the worst at meeting people. That's why they always seem to date their dysfunctional costars. Look at Jennifer Aniston and her relationship history. She only seems to date dysfunctional costars.

If celebrities actually went to the market or maybe took one of my Bootcamps, then they could meet everyday people. They would meet people who, unlike most actors, are not narcissistic; in fact, they're normal and stable. Maybe they would actually be able to find a real relationship.

Can you imagine Jennifer Love Hewitt falling in love with the butcher at her local supermarket? He'd probably love and adore her forever and ever. She'd probably have her first great relationship.

What if Jennifer Aniston walked into Starbucks, and a regular guy like a banker approached her? What if she was open to him and actually found the relationship she has been desiring?

You should never look to celebrities for dating advice. They are only dating other celebrities.

So unless you're the celebrity butcher in your town, and you want to meet the celebrity florist and have a local celebrity relationship, then only take your dating advice from "regular people." Regular people understand what it's like to be a normal person every day.

So Jennifer, maybe the ghosts will whisper some amazing things in your ear so you can finally find the man you're looking to meet, because apparently you really are looking for true love. I wish you lots of luck, but maybe you should expand your horizon outside the very limited world of Hollyweird.
