While working on the paintings of "mothers" and their offspring in the series Precious, I decided to make a few paintings of the children on their own, several of which had a Balthus-ian quality of early precocious sensuality. This one, of Cynthia Rowley and Bill Powers' daughter Gigi (who I am smitten with), took on a more quaint, Rockwellian vibe. My chihuahua Frankie keeps her company, along with her enviable Care Bear collection.
