12 Cat vs Baby Fights

Posted: 10/28/11 03:08 PM ET

Not many people are aware of the long-standing rivalry between human babies and cats. The pro-feline movement has been trying to suppress any information about this blood feud dating back to 1930's Shattering Health Superstitions by Morris Fishbein. In the book, Fishbein "debunked" the myth of cats stealing the breath of sleeping babes.

Since the publishing of this work, most (uninformed) people scoff at the notion of a beef between children and cats but as evidenced by the following 12 videos, the hatred between these two groups rages on, more gruesome than ever before.

Be warned, some of these videos may prove too brutal for sensitive viewers. While violent, these videos are important chronicles of a secret war that has lasted centuries. We should learn from them, in hopes that one day we can call a truce between cats and babies.

The Baby Wrestles Cat is just cruel. How could anyone watch their baby abuse the cat in that way. It will be the parent's fault when the cat decides to defend itself and causes serious injuries to the baby.

Its never cute or funny to see animals abused by anyone.
These 'parents' who allow a child to follow a cat or dog around the house to hold them by their heads is abuse. Squeezing a puppy or kitten is never funny either.
When my brothers and I were young, our parents brought a puppy home and set us all down to watch us play with it. Then told us how to handle the pup, and taught us the things never to do to a animal.
It seems some of these parents was never taught them selves.

The kids deserved it.

I didn't find many of these funny. A lot of the time the child was bothering the cat and the adult should have intervened instead of stood there filming the whole thing. Animals and children should always be supervised so neither of them ends up getting hurt.

only the second video seemed to have a resposible family and a baby with good pet skills
09:55 AM on 10/31/2011
Exactly. Some people think my baby would love to have his own pet.
They sit the poor animal down in front of the child, then walk away.
Then when the child gets scratched or bit they give it to a shelter or hit the pet to teach them to take the abuse from the child.
Thats how I got my dog, he was abused by kids the mother gave to them for ones birthday gift. The poor dog still runs when he sees a child after 2 years of being away from the kids.
Uneducated people should never own a living thing.

Dogs are better for babies, big softy breeds that don't care if babies pull their ears or tail. Cats are too irritable for babies.

I disagree, having worked ER for many years. Ive never seen a baby mauled by a cat, but Ive seen dozens who had their face ripped off by the family dog.

No animal should have their ears or tail pulled by children of any age and I do not feel one jot of sympathy for children who get bitten or scratched. They should be kept away from animals until they are old enough to behave. Dogs (and cats) get harassed and tormented until the finally strike back and then get punished or put to sleep.

Those are some very mellow cats. I know a few cats that would leave the kid requiring some minor first aid.

How do they expect an animal to react if a baby is hitting it and pulling on its tail, like in the 8th video? I don't know why any parent would allow their child to do that.

What in the world is wrong with the parents of the babies?!! Cats are living things. I bet if the cat scratches their precious bundle of joy in retaliation, the cat would be punished within an inch of it's life. I wish these people would get a visit from animal protection.
