Today I had the privilege of meeting a young woman who is serving our nation and carrying the LIVESTRONG message with her every day. While I could have talked with her for hours, all we had were a few brief minutes together. In that time, here's what she told me:

Nearly five years ago when she was 18, she lost someone very close to her to Hodgkin's Lymphoma. From that day on, she wore the LIVESTRONG band until she entered the U.S. Army. Since the Army prohibits wearing of wristbands, she had LIVESTRONG tattooed onto her wrist.

Her spirit and her outlook made a deep impression on me. She's so young and so determined. Hers is one of the faces from this trip that I'll never forget.
