Perhaps it could be Murray City, Utah, Mayor Dan Snarr? Maybe the pitching staff of the Cleveland Indians? Or what about U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder or Capt. Ronald Johnson of the Missouri Highway Patrol?

First awarded in 2008 to retired New York City police detective Tim Galvin, the American Mustache Institute has once again opened nominations for the 2014 Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year presented by Wahl Trimmer , which has been noted as the most important honor in the history of important honors by both former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Anann and High Times Magazine, according to AMI.
The greatest misnomer about the Goulet Award is that it is not a best mustache award, but recognizes the person who has best represented or contributed to the Mustached American community during the past year. In fact, USA Today's Pop Candy columnist Whitney Matheson was once a finalist for pledging to write about mustaches once weekly.
Nominations will be accepted until Friday, Sept. 26. A pool of finalists will then be selected by AMI's certified nuclear mustacheologists and unveiled for voting beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1. The winner will announced announced Oct. 25 in Richmond at 'Stache Bash 2014, a charitable benefit for M4K Richmond, which improves the quality of life for Richmond-area children by fundraising for youth-oriented charities through mustache growth and events.
Past winners include Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher John Axford, Orlando-area firefighter Brian Sheets, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Clay Zavada, retired New York City police detective Tim Galvin, and in 2013 - the first co-recipients of the award - Montgomery County (Pennsylvania) County Clerk D. Bruce Hanes and woodworking craftsman David Stine of St. Louis.
