Is the universe literally teeming with life? Are some UFO abductees being implanted with control chips? Is it possible that Bigfoot could be an alien entity? Are precognitive dreams a reality? Could paranormal forces be pushing cars up enigmatic gravity hills? Was the mighty T.Rex covered with feathers? What is causing an Aussie lake to glow brilliant blue? Who has been stealing female cadavers from Russian cemeteries?
These are among the intriguing subjects that I plan to probe on my new TV program,Professor Weird, which will be debuting on the Science Channel on Saturday, August 18 at 9 p.m. with repeats at midnight and Monday at 4 a.m.
It focuses on the scientific evidence for UFOs and ETs, paranormal phenomena, cryptozoological entities, weird crime, bizarre medicine, strange people and anything else of an unusual and fascinating nature. I feel that the scientific community has been myopically narrow-minded concerning the feasibility of these various subjects. As a Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear physics, I endeavor to bring the scientific perspective to these controversial topics from an open-minded stance.
The program will be a combination of fascinating field reports and intriguing in-studio presentations, including a "Realm of Bizarre News" feature.
My able assistant on the show, Laura Brunkala, who is a superb researcher, provides a counterbalancing skepticism to many of my viewpoints so that I do not go off on a tangent!
I regularly lecture before various colleges, organizations, libraries, aerospace firms(such as Hughes, Lockheed, and ITT) and expos (such as the Whole Life Expo) and conventions (such as the Babylon 5 Con, Dr.Who Con, Space:1999 Con and the Hollywood Show.)
And I have guested on a passel of TV and radio talk shows, such as The Tom Green Show (7 times), Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Roseanne, The Martin Short Show, The Pat Sajak Show (5 times), The Jenny Jones Show (twice), Donahue, After Hours, Camp Midnite, Off-Hand, Let's Rap, Mid-Morning(8 times), Morning Edition (13 times), Sound Off (twice), People 7, Inland Report (3 times), People's Forum, The Tom Snyder Show, The Steve Edwards Show and The Michael Jackson Show.
Furthermore, I regularly appeared as a guest expert on Extra and Strange Universe, and hosted my own segment,"The Dr.Ruehl Show," on Weird TV.
And, most recently I was a regular contributor to A Current Affair, guested on THE X-TESTERS, and hosted a UFO segment on 9 On The Town. My radio program,Hypergalactic Enigmas, aired on Blog Talk Radio.
