HuffPo's "Eat The Press" has heard an unconfirmed rumor that Viacom is close to buying the humor newspaper and web site The Onion...but it's not a done deal yet. Viacom has also been rumored to have been interested in another internet humor site, CollegeHumor.com, which, it has been speculated, is about to be the subject of a major investment by Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp.
