SNL, plug your leaks! Following Tuesday's speculative New York Post story irst came FishbowlNY, citing an inside tip that that Horatio Sanz and Chris Parnell were to be axed from the show. Next came TMZ, which had its own insider saying that it was actually Sanz and Will Forte. Today, the LA Times gets in on the action, with a number of new tidbits from its own "source close to the show": the departing cast members will actually be Chris Parnell, Horatio Sanz, and Kenan Thompson, currently in some obscure movie about reptiles; and Amy Poehler will step down from the "Weekend Anchor" chair to make way for Jason Sudeikis. Interesting choice not to pair them; other solo anchors have been Chevy Chase, Kevin Nealon, Dennis Miller, Norm MacDonald, and Colin Quinn. Guess Amy won't be joining Katie Couric in the solo-lady-anchor Hall of Fame.
Note that Sanz is the only one to be cited by all three blabby insiders; looks like he's pretty much out (contrary to our predictions, which are here; we called Parnell and Thompson). Best Week Ever notes that "the beloved Parnell," Sanz and Thompson all have upcoming movie projects (though it harshes on Thompson's prospects, specifically with the movie "Wieners"). Note that none of these reports mention the "featured players"; no clue what that means, the fourth might just come from there. Stay tuned.
