Last night we were pleased as punch to be welcomed on to FNC's "Red Eye" with Greg Gutfeld, the energizer bunny of talk show hosts (and a HuffPo contributor, natch). It was a madcap and, er, interestingly substantive discussion with mainstays Bill Schulz and Rachel Marsden (another Canadian, which made Bill the meat in a Canadian Rachel sandwich — extra delicious with poutine), and also the halftime ombudsguy Andrew Levy, who is very quick with the quip. We had fun and felt very welcome, indeed — though not as welcome as Radar's Jeff Bercovici, whom Gutfeld seemd to favor somewhat. Watch the clips below and see if you agree — they start off talking about a racecar driver who skipped a wedding where he was the best man, instead sending a recording and a cardboard cutout of himself. Then we talked about a guy who got in a car accident but claimed that it wasn't him, actually a unicorn had been driving. This is the type of thing discussed on this show, btw. Watch it now:
The saucy banter! The meaningful looks! The aching longing in phrases like "It's a shame he's married...I'd like to tie him up." Never mind that the eagle-eyed viewer will catch the unmistakable flick of Bercovici's tongue at about the 14th second (don't bother rewinding, we've screengrabbed it here) and the saucy come-hither cock of the eyebrow at the end. Get a room, you guys!
Actually, it was very fun to be on the show and join the parade of random members of the NYC media and bloggorati types like Elizabeth Spiers, Emily Gould, Julia Allison, Will Leitch, Noelle Hancock plus Andrew Breitbart, who took the opportunity the other night to announce his vasectomy. Congratulations, Andrew! We hope you are healing comfortably. Tonight catch the lovely Ms. Allison back in the hot seat (or, as she puts it, riding the town bicycle), where we suspect they might talk about whether snowboarders are stressing out alpine wildlife, because Greg is very, very concerned about the environment. But anyone wanting to catch some interesting tidbits about NYC media types should tune in; I know a lot more about what got Emily Gould through college now.
p.s. Jeff, if you ever run into Gutfeld on a plane, I'd maybe hold off on the Ambien.
