The Voice of Youth Africa (VOYA) Summit is a gathering of Young African leaders, from within and around sub-Saharan Africa, who are passionate about causing positive change in their communities. This year's summit is tagged #DoSomethingAfrica; call for leaders at all levels of governance on the African continent to implement policies that will help Africans overcome the challenges of climate change with focus on environmental and economic sustainability.

Amb Chijioke Anthony Okpara, founder and executive director of Voice of Youth Africa (VOYA) explained that the reason for this year's theme is to draw awareness to Africa's vulnerability to the effects of climate change considering its geographical position and the absence of relevant infrastructure to cushion this effect. He encouraged young people around the world--especially on the African continent--to join the conversation on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #DoSomethingAfrica, and come up with sustainable ideas on how governments in the region can implement the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, and 15 which have to do with clean water and sanitation, clean energy, responsible consumption, protection of planet earth, conservation of life below water and life on land respectively.
