Drink Tank host Gibson Thomas, Publisher and Editor of Edible Marin & Wine Country, talks to Nicholas Pollacchi, Western US Brand Ambassador for The Balvenie distillery.

Nicholas is one of two US Brand Ambassadors for The Balvenie currently on a "Rare Craft Roadshow" through the United States. The Rare Craft Roadshow is a celebration of traditional crafts - things that are still made with skill, time and attention. Gibson and Nicholas met at a Scotch and cheese tasting at Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company in Point Reyes, CA - a perfect fit for the Rare Craft Roadshow.

On this episode of the Drink Tank, Gibson and Nicholas talk about The Balvenie, single malt Scotch, the Rare Craft Roadshow and the importance of supporting traditionally-made products of all sorts.

The Balvenie is owned by William Grant & Sons, Ltd., an independent, family-owned distiller founded by William Grant in 1887. The company is currently run by the fifth generation of his family. The Balvenie hand-crafts its range of single malts using traditional floor malting methods.
