Chanclasos:

I'm giving a chanclaso to State Rep. Lance Kinzer from Kansas for sponsoring a bill that will make discrimination against gays legal on the grounds of religious freedom. The Kansas Preservation of Religious Freedom Act was solely created to invalidate an anti-discrimination ordinance passed in Lawrence, Kansas. Kinzer says it's perfectly permissible to deny gays housing if a landlord finds homosexuality objectionable. The worst part is that 89 other legislators agreed with Kinzer's hateful legislation and moved the bill out of the State House. Is that how much you hate gay people that you don't even want them to have shelter? I'm hoping that's one of the main reasons Catholics are leaving the Church--it's intolerance for gays and women. Who wants to be affiliated with such a narrow-minded institution? Yo no!

Another individual on the wrong side of history is Speaker of the House John Boehner, who continues to support spending federal dollars to defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) even though the Department of Justice and the Obama Administration have said DOMA is unconstitutional. Boehner, the gays are getting married whether you like it or not, so save our federal tax dollars to fund job creation programs. Boehner has obtained over $700,000 to defend DOMA but may allocate up to $1.5 million to its defense. The Orange Man receives a chanclaso for wasting taxpayer funds.

Aplausos:

Un aplauso to all the #1 seeds in the NCAA Women's basketball tournament for advancing to the Final Four. It's the first time since 1989 that all four #1 seeds made it to the final four. Baylor, Stanford, Connecticut and Notre Dame have been the best four teams all season and have made this season very compelling. Adelante mujures!
