It's Not Too Late For A New York City Thanksgiving: Get Your Macy's Parade On!

Posted: 11/15/11 09:30 AM ET

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is not just an event, it's an American icon that officially marks the start of the holiday season. Are you dreaming of seeing it in person and not on grandma's huge tube TV with rabbit ears?

Here are six New York City hotels that still have Thanksgiving Day Parade packages available so you can watch the 85th annual Macy's Day Parade in the Big Apple!

Tip: If you want to get up close and personal with the balloons, you can watch them get inflated right where the parade route starts the night before. The start point is near the American Museum of Natural History between 77th and 81st Streets off Central Park West. Local families get there by 4 pm for best viewing and the pre-parade prep is typically finished by 8 pm.

The Trump International Hotel underwent a huge and gorgeous renovation in 2010 and the posh hotel sits directly on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade route. The hotel's Thanksgiving package includes city-view suites at $1,200 per night with a two-night minimum, which of course includes point-blank parade viewing.
