On Sept. 10, Amy Poehler's organization "Smart Girls" launched a campaign called #SmartGirlsAsk to generate more meaningful and important conversations on the red carpet. And that's exactly what they got during the Emmy Awards this past Sunday.
Following in the footsteps of last year's #AskHerMore campaign, Smart Girls asked Twitter users to submit questions they'd love to hear answered by actresses on the red carpet. Smart Girls attended the Emmy Awards and asked some of TV's biggest stars truly great questions about their careers, what it's like to be a woman in Hollywood and what empowers them.
Smart Girls spoke with Amy Schumer, Lea DeLaria, Danielle Brooks, Gina Rodriguez, Jimmy Fallon and even Amy Poehler herself.
The questions included "What's your favorite charity to support?" and "How did you start believing in your own work and talent?"
While all the answers were thoughtful and heartfelt, our favorite was Amy Schumer's answer to the question: "What prominent female entertainment figure would make a great late night host of a talk show?" Her five-star answer? Gloria Steinem.
