There's a new bisexual character headed to primetime TV.

Ryan Murphy recently announced that Lady Gaga will be playing a character who has relationships with Angela [Bassett] and Matt [Bomer]"on "American Horror Story: Hotel," according to EOnline.com.

The decision to make Gaga's character bi is case of art imitating life, as the musician has regularly discussed her own bisexuality throughout her career.

And she's not alone. More and more people are coming out as bisexual, including stars who aren't shying away from talking about their lives and relationships. And that's a good thing: the more visibility the bisexual community receives, the more difficult it is to unfairly write bisexual people off as simply going through a "phase," being duplicitous about their desires or argue that they're just plain "greedy" -- all ridiculous claims that are all too frequently espoused.

Below, check out 27 other celebs who have also come out as bisexual and are helping to challenge and change the way our society understands about what it means to be bisexual. Head here for more info on bisexuality.
