For the second year in a row, Art Los Angeles Contemporary 2017 hosted Freeways, a small section of booths (eight to be exact) dedicated to young galleries. All eight galleries opened their doors between 3-5 years ago and offer a robust program of mostly younger artists.

The galleries this year included Alter Space (San Francisco), Club Pro (Los Angeles), EIGEN + ART Lab (Berlin), Jenny’s (Los Angeles), Park View (Los Angeles), PPC Philipp Pflug Contemporary (Frankfurt), Queer Thoughts (New York) and TIF SIGFRIDS (Los Angeles).

As an artist, it’s compelling to see a young gallery’s personality, their selections and, in general, the artists with whom they choose to work. The following images are some of Freeways’ offerings this year.
