It was recently reported that the priciest suite in New York, the Ty Warner Penthouse, goes for a whopping $40,000 a night. Fortunately, you don't have to take out a second mortgage to vacation in the lap of luxury. The following suites at prime destinations around the U.S. offer drool-inducing amenities at a price tag you can actually afford. The trick is to plan ahead and nab them at the right time. New York is notorious for high hotel prices, especially when it comes to suites in swanky hotels. But this member of the 2013 Condé Nast Gold List offers surprisingly affordable luxury in the heart of midtown. The Luxury One Bedroom Suite at The Kimberly boasts over 500 square feet of living space, a separate bedroom and living area each with its own flat screen TV, a balcony with city views, and a wetbar equipped with a microwave and fridge. 7. Washington DC - One Bedroom Suite, The Ritz-Carlton
Spending money and Washington DC go together like peanut butter and jelly. But if it's your own money you're spending, you can still live like a fat cat without breaking the bank at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC, which was one of only a handful of hotels in the US awarded 5-diamonds by AAA in 2012.
