Amanda Knox's Reunion With Ex-Boyfriend Was No 'Nightmare,' Raffaele Sollecito Says (VIDEO)

'Nightmare' Reunion With Amanda Knox?

Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito shared a nine-day fling in Italy and served four years in prison for murder.

Then they got together for old times' sake.

Sollecito revealed Tuesday that his reunion with Knox earlier this year in her hometown of Seattle went far differently than he feared. He told Katie Couric on her new show "Katie" that despite his reservations that the rendezvous would conjure up bad memories, it was comfortable.

"When she hugged me, I realized she was not my ghost, my nightmare," Sollecito said, according to ABC News.

At first, however, he was terrified. "When I looked at her, I got stuck a little bit, I was nervous," Sollecito said, according to RadarOnline. "I still had the psychological wounds of this nightmare that passed in prison. Her image brought up the image of the nightmare."

Despite the pleas of his father and friends to sever ties with Knox, Sollecito said the two trade emails and she even sang him a song on their last Skype exchange, RadarOnline adds. (According to the Telegraph, Knox is said to have a new boyfriend, James Terrano.)

Couric asked Sollecito if he regretted having met Knox, he answered, "No. It was not her fault. It was the fault of the detectives who brought up the case."

Knox, now 25, and Sollecito, 27, have been free for nearly a year, since their convictions were overturned for questionable DNA evidence linking them to the killing of Meredith Kercher. Kercher was found stabbed 40 times in the Perugia, Italy, apartment she shared with Knox. (A third person, Rudy Guede, continues to serve a 16-year prison term for his role in the crime.) An appeal is pending to reinstate their sentence.

In promoting his new book, "Honor Bound: My Journey to Hell and Back With Amanda Knox," Sollecito shared memories of their romance, their ordeal in the aftermath of the killing, and their prison correspondence.

Knox has her own book planned for next year, the Associated Press reported. Perhaps then we'll hear her side of the reunion.
