Ever since the news about ban imposed on seven Muslim countries by the president trump of the USA has been announced, people have been coming forward and voiding their displeasure over it. As the news made its way across the world, the list of people who do not agree with this decision has been growing. The CEOs of Apple, Uber, Netflix and Twitter are joining the long list of people who are not happy with this kind of discrimination and denounce this policy as this not only affects the people working for them but it also puts a bad light on their competitive quest for talent. After this announcement came, there have been so many statements pouring in from common people as well as heads of state as well as executives of Google, Facebook and even Microsoft regarding the new policy.

Not only this, but now CEO’s of Apple, Uber, Netflix and Twitter have also voiced their displeasure over this decision and they are not happy with what president trump is doing. The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook has took a strong stance against this new policy that will be soon implemented that apple cannot exist without imitation let along thrive and innovate the way they do. According to him, he has heard about so many people who are deeply concerned about the executive order that has been issued by the new sworn in president regarding restricting immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries. He also said that he expressed all the concerns that people have and he or his company does not support this policy.

In addition to this, he also said that there are people working at apple who will be directly affected by this decision and the legal security and HR teams at Apple are trying their best to support them and make things work out with them. He expressed his displeasure further and said that they are offering resources on Apple Web for people who have questions or concerns about these immigration policies and how they would take shape now. He further explained that Apple authorities are also in touch with the white house to explain what this ban can mean for the people and the company and how can affect them. In a similar statement, the Uber CEO Travis Kalanick explained in his internal memo that he or his company does not support this ban and his company and the workers are being impacted by this policy negatively which is not good for anyone.

Obtained by the New York Times, this memo was posted on twitter and the ride sharing company has expressed what it thinks of this policy. According to Kalanick, his op team is already reaching out to the dozen or more employees who have been affected by this new and that they will be doing everything in their power to make sure that things are managed rightly. He further said that this order will have far broader implications as it affects thousands of drivers who use Uber and come from the countries on the ban list and they are trying to come up with the process to identify those drivers and compensate them in such a manner that it takes care of the financial stress and makes it easy for them to go through this time.

He said that they will have some more details on this in a few days. The CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings has made use of Facebook to give voice to his displeasure on this policy that will soon be implement in the USA. He said that the actions of president trump are hurting. Netflix employees all over the world and these actions are so un-American that they are actually painful. `He also wrote that these actions make America less safe instead of making it more safe and it was a very sad week as there are so many people who come to America with a dream and instead of breaking things up, it is time to link arms together to protect the American values of freedom and opportunity.

Since this ban has been announced that prohibits people coming to USA from seven Muslim majority countries, there have been protests coming from civil rights groups, politicians as well as celebrities who are speaking against this policy. No one expected such a ban so soon after the swearing in ceremony, it took people by surprise how quickly trump has moved things and how swiftly a ban has been imposed. In addition to this, the twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has also added a brief but potent statement against the new immigration policy and calls it very upsetting. He expressed in his statement that the Executive Order's humanitarian and economic impact is real and very disheartening and that twitter benefits from what these refugees and immigrants brought to the U.S and with this ban in place, things will not be same again.

What is really surprising about all these statements is that these are the heads of some of the most powerful and influential companies operating in the USA with thousands of employees all over and even though they have expressed their displeasure over the new government policies, yet it does not seem to matter to the new president. These CEOs have expressed that this ban will not only affect the people working in the USA for these companies but it will also affect their families and people who are living outside but working for these companies.

While these companies have not expressed their thoughts and ideas regarding the government policies in the past, this issue is big and personal enough for them to take stance and express their displeasure over what is going on. Being the top revenue generating as well as the most influencing companies in America, they are surely letting the people being affected by the ban know that they support them and that they will be helping their employees who are going to bear the brunt of these policies.
